On Sunday night, the 2020 WSOP Online Event #5: $1 000 No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout attracted 854 players to generate an $811 300 prize pool. After ten and a half hours of play, it was Allen “Acnyc718” Chang emerging victorious to capture the bracelet and $161 286 first-place prize.
According to The Hendon Mob, Chang has $215 567 in live tournament earnings including a career-best $49 039 for finishing seventh in the 2010 Borgata Spring Poker Open Championship Event. As for the WSOP, his prior best finish was 15th in the 2012 WSOP Event #52: $2 500 10-Game Six-Handed for $9 481.
Chang took a 3:1 chip lead into heads-up play, but Yeh put up a tough fight, even taking over the chip lead at one point. However, Chang was not to be denied as he reclaimed the lead and set about whittling down Yeh, who would jam with eight-six. Chang called with queen-jack and the paint cards prevailed to eliminate Yeh in second place for $99 709.
