The next Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) tournament was held at the Aspers Casino in London as part of the British Poker Open series. The buy-in for this event was £250,000. Only 12 people took part in the tournament, which allowed to form a prize pool of £3 million. The winner of this event was a famous poker professional Cary Katz.
Cary Katz was confronted in hedsup by the Bosnian phenomen Ali Imsirovic, who broke into the high roller scene last year. In the final hand, Imsirovic caught a set of tens on the flop, and Katz had the second nuts flush draw. On the flop and turn Cary played a call. On the river Katz hited the flush, which allowed him to win this tournament.
|Place||Player||Country||Prize (GBP)||Prize (USD)|
|1st||Cary Katz||United States||£2,100,000||~$2,626,262|
|2nd||Ali Imsirovic||Bosnia & Herzegovina||£900,000||~$1,125,541|
“This is my biggest score and I was just remarkably lucky,” a humble Katz shared with reporters following the victory. “I got lucky on the hands that mattered after what seemed to just become a slow demise. I’m not in their league and I would just like to take my hat off to Stevie, Christoph, and Ali. I think they all played so much better than I did and I think they were all more deserving. I just got very lucky.
