Popular online poker room GGPoker added a section with a brand new Flip&Go tournaments. This format of tournaments has unusual features. Let’s take a closer look at what the main principle of this game is.
Flip and go
Players could have to get up to 10 buy-ins at once in order to receive an increased stack and thereby improve their chances of winning. One buy-in equals 1000 chips. Each player can start no more than one tournament within 30 minutes. This rule is only valid for one level. GGPoker currently offers four buy-in levels in Flip&Go tournaments:
• $0.01 gtd $5
• $0.15 gtd $50
• $2 gtd $500
• $25 gtd $2,500
Flip&Go tournaments are divided into two stages. The first stage of the tournament is an all-in shootout. Before the start of the flipout stage players receive 3 cards on the preflop. Within 30 seconds you have to choose a card to discard. The first stage ends when there is one winner at the table.
It is worth noting that players can get an increased stack during the flipout stage. This happens if the player gets a certain starting combination of three cards in the preflop.
• Straight— x 1 starting stacks
• Flush — x 2 starting stacks
• Three of a kind — x 3 starting stacks
• Straight Flush — x 4 starting stacks
After the first stage of the flipout, all players go to the second stage, which will be held in the format of a classic tournament. It should be noted that all players who passed to the second stage, immediately get into the prize zone. In the second stage the growth of the blinds is 5 minutes.
