World Poker Tour has been very successful in hosting tournaments on all inhabited continents. This time the series was first held in Australia. According to employees and figures, The Star Gold Coast festival has a great success. Between September 27 and October 7, WPT Australia hosted 10 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from A $ 330 to A $ 5,000. In the WPT Australia Main Event with an a $ 2,500 buy-in and 658 players were registered. The tournament prize pool was a $ 1,480,500 (~ $ 1,002,447). The first place went to Hari Varma, who before this victory, had a maximum win in live tournaments of $ 7,000. Hari Varma said that he liked how WPT conducts its tournaments and that he plans to play more in the future.
