PartyPoker has created a new team of ambassadors for their brand called PartyPoker Team Online. Matt Staples was the first to join it – a successful Canadian player, streamer and brother of Jaime Staples – an even more well-known streamer and former PokerStars ambassador. Two brothers are known for the sensational weight bet with Bill Perkins, when they received 150 000$ for the win.
Matt is 22 years old, he has been playing poker professionally since he was 18. Matt managed to build up a bankroll starting with micro limits. He now plays tournaments with medium and high buy-ins, and he streams his game on Twitch. His poker Twitch-channel is very popular – over 3 million views and 52 000 subscribers (and audience is constantly growing).
The player commented on his new status on his Instagram page:
«Very excited to announce that I have officially joined Partypoker Team Online. This is a big step in my career that I’ve been working towards for a long time and I couldn’t be happier about what the future brings with Partypoker alongside».
Creating Team Online is part of a company’s broader strategy with an emphasis on streaming. Recently, the poker room announced a partnership with The Thirst Lounge – Twitch-channel launched in 2016 by the high-roller Bill Perkins, now this is a streamers team’s channel. Now it became known about the online team of ambassadors and PartyPoker promises to introduce new partners in the coming days.
PartyPoker also has plans for a new high-stakes cash-game to which some of the greatest poker players will be invited to play live.
In addition, the current members of the PartyPoker team, including Fedor Holz, Patrick Leonard and Ludovic Geilich, will periodically stream on PartyPoker’s Twitch channel.
