Currently, Phil Ivey remains at five titles. He has amassed several Triton Poker victories — enough to secure the second spot all-time, alongside Danny Tang.
However, had things gone according to plan in Event #15: $50k Pot Limit Omaha in Jeju, he could have edged even closer to chasing down Jason Koon, who leads with 10 Triton titles.
In the final, he fell short against Biao Ding, settling for second place. Nevertheless, Ivey still secured his fourth Triton cash at this stop, marking his tenth since the beginning of 2023.
Meanwhile, this marks Ding’s second Triton title. He previously clinched victory in the $30,000 NLHE Mystery Bounty in Northern Cyprus last year. This is Ding’s seventh cash at the Triton Jeju stop, coming less than a week after his second-place finish in Event #9: $150K NLH 8-Handed, where he earned $2,870,000.
“The more I play, the better I become!” Ding remarked after his win. “Luck plays a role in heads-up, even against Phil Ivey. He’s a great player, but this time luck was on my side.
“I enjoy winning heads-up battles against Ivey!”
In the end, a total of 14 places were paid out, confirming another star-studded final table in Jeju following the recent PLO Bounty Quattro victory of Nacho Barbero, who finished eighth.
