Roger Teska Wins WPT
The first stop of the 18th World Poker Tour season ended this week with a $5000 WPT Gardens Poker Festival event. A total of 373 entries were made to the tournament and a prize pool of $1,753,100 was created. Last year 584 players took part in the tournament. The winner of the tournament was Roger Teska, who received $368,475 and a $15,000 ticket to the Tournament of Champions.
“I’m definitely going to play a few more WPTs for sure. This was the first WPT I’ve played in a long time and they’ve done an incredible job fixing some flaws in the structure. Going to 90 minutes for the middle two days and then going back down to 60 minutes and adding the time banks and shot clock – that’s awesome.”
