A legendary actor has been tapped by the WSOP in a promo awarding a seat to the 2023 main event in Las Vegas.
Actor Vince Vaughn, who has been in films such as Swingers, Dodgeball, and Wedding Crashers, will play against Phil Hellmuth, Koray Aldemir, and Joe Cada in a WSOP promo starting Nov. 15, 2022.
It’s a unique promotion for poker players. If you are in one of the states where the WSOP offers online poker, players can make a deposit with a special code that will function as a prediction for Vaughn’s heads-up matches. If you’re right, the WSOP will enter you into a free roll that awards the winner with a 2023 $10,000 main event seat.
Vaughn has been growing his relationship with the WSOP in recent years.
Earlier this year, Vaughn was the “Celebrity Master of Ceremonies” and he showed up at the poker festival dressed in a Caesar costume. Vaughn gave the customary “shuffle up and deal” announcement for the players in the WSOP main event. The WSOP also had him unveil the championship bracelet for the eventual winner of the $10,000 buy-in tournament.
“I have such a strong connection to Las Vegas and am honored to be selected as the Master of Ceremonies for what is set to be the most anticipated WSOP tournament ever,” Vaughn said in late 2021. “Poker has long been one of my favorite sports, so to be a part of something as historic as the WSOP finally moving to the Strip is an absolute dream. Vegas Baby, Vegas!”
